| Did like 5.5 miles w/ Jenny, Ina very dazed state, between Benadryl and my allergies I was out of it, which explains how I kicked a dirt clod, tripped and banged my knee, so then with a goodly amount of blood streeming down my leg I stopped and got Asher and we did 2x 5 strides and more miles, wind aided, he was out of it too so it wasn't just me! I was going to run again but then we turned our attention to the festivities surrounding this 100 mile dirt road bike race that was finishing and we went down there to hang out and eat street tacos and have a beer. Duke and his old guys cleaned up at the race, where there seemed to be less than 50% of starters finishing. Broken derailleurs and mud everywhere. I was totally wanting to do it but I don't have the bike for it and as it turned out it was a lot more difficult with weather and newly shipped roads. 8 hours seemed to be a good time.....maybe next year |

| Waited til late afternoon and ran the whole thing with Asher, most of it with him off leash. Asher is, how to characterize, an excitable and high energy dog. He has on multiple occasions now run through barbed wire, sharp sticks, and who knows what else in the pursuit of small furry animals, the outcome of which has been 0 net animals and many bloody gashes, the worst of them requiring stitches, satellite dish collars, etc. So knowing this, I am still trying to train him to a new 5k pb and to be the best running dog around. We were running on this short section of bike path through the woods and he hit a game trail, which I noticed and called to get his attention. Now, if I stopped and made sure that Asher was not up to foolishness, I would not get a run in with the dog, so I did some laps in a pasture for a while waiting for him to reappear. He did not.... For a while, and when he did, I noticed he wasn't moving that fast meaning he had definitely been in a foot race with something and.... I noticed a bloody scuff on his shoulder which wasn't bleeding heavily but there nonetheless. We head home and this point to get him cleaned up, but we're about 4 miles out and I ain't carrying the damn dog or something. We're tough in this household, dogs only get to sleep on the couch for 8 hours a day and no more than 2 massages a week. We get home and I clean the dog up, there's dried matted blood and what sees like a few loose hairs that are white or grey, not the black of Asher's entire coat, but no major trauma that I can tell. It was on kind of a weird spot on the side of his shoulder, so I'm hoping its not an animal bite. I had to shave his shoulder to get a closer look and a puncture is this only thing that can describe the wound and reason for the amount of blood for such a small spot of damage. So, hopefully, a bullet dodged. We've done skunk sprays, barbed wire gashes and now a possible animal attack | |

| W/ dawg, he got after a big buck and I didn't see him for quite a while, felt alright but my chest is funky and then it started raining pretty hard so we headed in. I had definite ambitions of getting back out but Asher ended up messing up his foot which freaked out Jenny and she got some news back from a blood test that indicated she had abnormally high iron levels?? So she was stressed out which meant I got to be the one to go buy her chocolate and cook dinner and try to chill everybody out. I racked my latest batch of beer which may have been my only win for the day. I don't really understand how married guys make their training work while still playing a supportive role. If you stop and think, the window of opportunity is gone, my motivation also gets exponentially worse as I stray from my workout intentions. | Treadmill sweat fest, did kind of an arbitrary workout just to not read into the numbers too much, ran the mile to/from gym, then something like 3.5 mi> 7x90" on/steady then I think I ran to finish 6 mi at 6' pace all at 2% incline I believe. | 1st leg starting around noon, warmed up minimally and probably went out a tad fast but had no clue what terrain awaited me, had long downhill where I looked at my watch and was running 5:00 pace on rocky trail for most of the mile proceeded by a creek crossing and immediate resubmit of that same elevation I had just lost but mostly in the first 1/4 mile, passed a runner here, it looks like we climbed 300 feet in a 1/4 mile, the vehicles were getting stuck here. Closed it out on a mile of pavement uphill and into the wind, ~6.5 mi stage w/ 1mi wu/cd 2nd leg forget quite when the handoff was probably around 11pm?, smartly gave up the idea to wear socks on any legs at this point as it was all wet and muddy and a sock just held on to any moisture. So it was obviously total darkness for these legs, wearing a headlamp but all on dirt roads and whatnot, fun but eery for sure, ran strong but stomach felt kind of heavy early and eventually after I had a downhill stretch that I pushed, I had to take a pit stop, which I did right in the middle of the road because no one was anywhere around and I couldn't even see where I could jump off the road into the brush, no harm done. | After 50' nap in backseat of car, Jenny got things started off with a 2mile climb out of the state park and then Craig had a pretty good leg, it started snowing for good measure by the time I got my handoff and continued through my entire leg which was on dirt, muddy at times. I donned the OU singlet for this one and just ran progressively, finished with not a single patch of skin unmuddied and legs went numb but really felt pretty decent, averaged sub 6 for 7 miles and 20 miles total all of which were run on hilly dirt roads, team ended up losing by 12 minutes in a 29 hour race, I would have liked to run the uphill leg against the all guys team, our team was coed 50/50 with a 50 year old woman and 65 year old man. |

| Did 5mi > then like a mile of strides where I was charged by an aggressive dog with dumbass owners, then strait into 6x1/1, just still recovering and it was hot so just got some work in, but not a ton, 2 or 3 mi to end 8k evening run where I again was charged and snapped at by a dog that was off leash at the course, I think it just had to do with the fact that it was a single girl and a alpha female dog, same as this morning. | noon: pretty hot by this time, did an out/back run on sangre to lakeview which in theory is a good workout on the dirt roads but it was tough and by the 7 mile mark when the hard work was done, I was tired. Jenny on the other hand got cooked, we're trying to work on her summer approach, she struggles big time but i really think it's more indicative of her intensity, whe needs to get fitter but also be more patient and stay below the effort threshold when she starts really overheating. 10+ pm: i did like 3 easy miles and then 8 laps of strides trying to concentrate on form and really jogging the curves for a bit more recovery, felt good, 5.5mi |

| am soloed the countryside of stillwater, lots of hills to be had and legs were fairly tired but never got completely out of control. Everything was so green and cool so it was really pretty awesome out there. Ran past a dead deer that someone had put on the side of the road to be picked up with their trash, never ceases to amaze... Immediately got home, jumped in the shower and shot to the city to grab dimsum with my mom which was amazing, problem was the first food I ate today was 2 hours post run at about 1:00, i think this slowed recovery significantly judging by how i feel the next day. |
